ALAN HEAPHY is the Team Principal of Team Mitsubishi Ralliart and is one of the most knowledgeable Managers in Australian Motorsport.

With a career spanning over 20 years, many of the top of his profession, Heaphy has built a reputation as an extremely professional and successful Manager in the Motorsport world both Nationally and Internationally.

Alan has spent many years in England heading the development of Nissan Motorsport Europe’s Touring and Sportcar programs before returning to Australia in 1991 to head Nissan Motorsport Australia’s Touring Car program with Fred Gibson as Team Principle.

The Nissan Skyline GTR and the team was the most dominating and successful team ever in Touring Car racing in Australia, winning both the 1991 & 1992 Australian Touring Car Championship and the Bathurst 1000.

In 1992 and 1993 . Heaphy returned to the UK heading the British Touring Car Championship Nissan Touring Car program.

In 1994 Alan again journeyed back to Australia where he set up a V8 Supercar team for former World 500cc Champion Wayne Gardner and Neil Crompton, supported by Coca Cola.

Since 1997 Alan has contracted his services to various top level Motorsport groups and teams including Gibson Motorsport’s two year Wynn’s Racing program that ended in November 1999 with a victory at the famous FAI 1000 Bathurst race.

Heaphy spent the year 2000 in Queensland assisting a number of teams including CAT Racing. He returned to Gibson Motorsport in January 2001 to work with Fred Gibson in establishing the new Ford racing team, before Team Owner Bob Forbes took control and re-named the team 00 Motorsport.

In 2004 he returned to his grass roots Motorsport of Rallying and established a new look Team Mitsubishi Ralliart for Mitsubishi Australia. Team Mitsubishi Ralliart campaigned two All Wheel Drive Mitsubishi Magna’s in the 2004 Globalstar Australian Rally Championship dominating the class with six wins from six starts.

Team Mitsubishi Ralliart moved on with the Mitsubishi Evo 8 in 2005 competing in the Australian Rally Championship (ARC) and was the only team to break the domination of the factory supported Subaru team by winning a number of major events throughout the series.

In 2006, Alan and his team upgraded to the Evo 9 winning a number of heats throughout the championship as well as claiming outright victory in their hometown at the NEC Rally of Melbourne.

PETER WEST joined Team Mitsubishi Ralliart as Team Manager with an impressive background. Peter was formally the Engine Project Manager for the team of Gibson Motorsport from 1990 to 2003 and worked with 3 manufacturers during this time, namely Nissan, Ford and General Motors.

Peter was instrumental with the success of the now infamous Nissan GTR “Godzilla” run in the Australian Touring Car Championship, Group A, and the Gibson Motorsport Winfield Commodores and the Craig Lowndes driven “Green Eyed Monster” AU Falcon in the V8 Supercar Series.

Peter made a significant contribution in the engine development for all of the above-mentioned motorsport programs.

Peter moved into the Team Management role managing the Wynns sponsored Commodore run by Gibson Motorsport and driven by Rodney Forbes. Major success was achieved by Peter when he successfully managed the Holden Monaro team campaigned under the Garry Rogers Motorsport banner to a convincing win at the Bathurst 24-hour race in a 1-2 finish.

Peter joined Team Mitsubishi Ralliart as Team Manager at the end of 2003 and has successfully taken the Team to various Rally Championship Titles and Round wins.
